Simplifying School Management with Custom Software
Our client set out to solve a growing pain point across school boards: the fragmented and outdated systems used to manage staff absences and replacements. Administrators, employees, and substitutes were juggling multiple disconnected platforms, leading to communication delays, missed replacements, and significant administrative burden. CLEIO partnered with the Absenteo team to design and develop a centralized web application that streamlines the entire process — from reporting absences to assigning substitutes — all through a unified and accessible platform.
At the core of our process was direct collaboration with Absenteo and its end users. Together, we conducted working sessions with school board staff and employees to understand the real-world complexity behind what seemed like a simple workflow. These insights shaped every design decision. CLEIO’s team led the UX strategy, architecture, and custom development with iterative validation to ensure the solution aligned with users’ day-to-day needs. The result: a secure, intuitive tool that improves coordination across schools, reduces manual work, and brings clarity to a previously chaotic system.
