SoundBite’s Console Innovative Design Gets Gold Certification at the 2024 Grands Prix du Design

Following the OdrA orthosis in 2021, CLEIO has been honored for the second time at the Grands Prix du Design. The 2024 edition highlighted the expertise of our industrial designers by awarding a gold certification to SoundBite Medical’s console in the Medical & Scientific Apparel category.

This certification showcases the expertise of our engineers and designers in creating innovative medical devices that address the complex needs of both patients and healthcare professionals.

A Cutting-Edge Console for Calcified Artery Disease Treatment

SoundBite Medical specializes in cutting-edge medical devices for treating calcified artery disease. Chronic total occlusion of peripheral arteries (CTO) is a particularly common condition among elderly patients. It can lead to serious complications such as heart attacks, strokes, limb loss, or even death.

To address this health issue, SoundBite Medical employs a groundbreaking CTO crossing technique. This involves inserting a catheter into the artery to break up the calcified plaque using the shockwave energy generated by the console.

A Visually Appealing, User-Friendly Medical Device Design

CLEIO was mandated to design and engineer the latest commercial version of the console. Our designers approached the redesign with a clear objective: to strike the perfect balance between aesthetics, size and positioning, medical experts’ concerns, regulatory requirements, and the electromechanical constraints of such an advanced system.

The result is a device that not only fulfills its technical promises but also integrates seamlessly into its environment. User-friendly and visually appealing, the design aligns with current market trends, and can be easily adopted by healthcare professionals.
